Recommend Server Hardware#
This hardware has been tested at DLS and is known to work well as a usb-remote server.
If you choose this hardware then a pre-configured Raspberry Pi usb-remote server image is available to download, see the Raspberry Pi Commissioning Guide.
Raspberry Pi 5 8GB RAM#
Raspberry 4 is also suitable, I have also found 2GB RAM models to work fine.

MicroSD Card 16GB#
e.g. SanDisk Ultra 16GB or larger.

High Quality Passively Cooled Case#
e.g.Geekworm Raspberry Pi 5 Case (P573)

Power Supply#
Official Raspberry Pi 27W USB-C Power Supply

Raspberry Pi Pico with Pico OLED 1.3” Display#
This is used for easily extracting the MAC address of the Raspberry Pi during commissioning.

Alternative Power Supply#
If you plan on running a number of Pis. Then a modern GAN USB-C Power Delivery power supply with multiple ports is a good alternative. Make sure it can provide at least 5A at 5V per Pi.
e.g. Ugreen Nexode 200w
